Refill Shop – sustainable cleaning products at cost price

Why we started a refill shop

Most of us use cleaning products without thinking about what’s in them or where the bottles end up. But small changes add up. If 30 households stop buying single-use plastic bottles and start refilling instead, that’s 360 fewer bottles a year ending up in landfill.

That’s the idea behind our Refill Shop. We stock products that are better for you and the planet—and we sell them at cost price because we’d rather you use them than bin them.

What we stock

Everything is vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, and made without synthetic dyes or perfumes. You’re getting a genuinely better product, not just a greener label:

  • Cleaning: Washing up liquid, laundry detergent, fabric conditioner, multi-surface cleaner, toilet cleaner, floor cleaner
  • Personal care: Hand soap, bubble bath, shower gel, shampoo, hair conditioner
  • Solid alternatives: Friendly hand soaps and solid shampoo bars (great for travel, long-lasting, zero packaging)

How it works

Bring your empty containers when you come to Repair Café. We’ll refill them for you. Don’t have a bottle? No problem—we usually have spares, so you can start straight away.

The cost?

We’re a profit-free organisation run by volunteers, so we sell everything at cost price. We add a small round-up per item to cover spillage and running costs—usually just a few pence. You’re paying for the product itself, not fancy packaging or marketing.

Come for the repair, stay for the refill

Every third Saturday of the month, when you bring your broken item to Repair Café at Silsden Methodist Church (9:30am–12pm), you can also refill your cleaning and personal care products. Same visit. One trip. Less waste, less plastic, less money spent.

We run this in partnership with Plastic Free Silsden—local people working to cut plastic waste across the community.

Together, we’re cutting waste one bottle at a time.
