When something no longer works for you, it might be exactly what someone else needs. That’s why we partner with local and national charities who give unwanted items new purpose—saving them from landfill and creating real impact for people and communities.
Your items. Real impact.
Through partnerships with four dedicated charities, we make sure donations go where they’re needed most:
- Old laptops and phones go to Solidaritech, who refurbish them for asylum seekers and refugees, helping them access education, support services and rebuild their lives here in the UK.
- Unwanted bicycles are passed to Upcycle, where they become part of prisoner training programmes across the UK. Through bike repair workshops, participants learn practical skills, build confidence and plan for life after release.
- Tools and haberdashery are collected for Workaid, reaching communities in Africa who use them to develop skills, start small businesses and improve self-reliance.
Bring items to Repair Café. Check the events calendar for partner drop-off dates at our monthly sessions in Silsden. It’s simple—just ask a team member where each item can go.
You don’t need to repair something for it to have value. If it’s unwanted, we can help pass it on.
Your old laptop or smartphone doesn’t have to become e-waste. At Solidaritech, they give refurbished tech to asylum seekers and refugees, helping them access education, immigration support and job opportunities as they rebuild their lives in the UK.
What happens to your device:
Solidaritech professionally wipes all your data and installs fresh operating systems—so your old machine becomes faster, more secure and genuinely useful again. Every device refurbished is one less gadget taking resources to produce new.
Just bring it to Repair Café. We collect unwanted laptops, desktops, tablets and smartphones. Check the events calendar for Solidaritech’s drop-off dates in Silsden.
It takes seconds to drop off. The impact lasts much longer.
An old bike gathering dust in your shed could transform someone’s future. Upcycle collects unwanted bicycles and uses them in repair workshops across UK prisons and youth programmes—teaching practical skills, building confidence and creating pathways to employment.
How your donation helps:
When you donate a bike to Upcycle, it becomes part of a hands-on learning experience. Participants take a broken or neglected bicycle and restore it to working order. They learn mechanics, problem-solving and the satisfaction of fixing something real. For many, it’s their first step towards a skilled trade or renewed sense of purpose.
Drop off at Repair Café. Bring your unwanted bicycle to any monthly session in Silsden. Check the calendar for Upcycle’s collection dates.
A bike that’s finished for you can be a beginning for someone else.
When you donate tools and haberdashery to Workaid, you’re not just clearing your shed—you’re helping people in Africa develop practical skills and start their own income-generating activities.
What gets collected:
Tools and sewing supplies that are no longer used in the UK make their way to communities across Africa through our partnership with Workaid. There, they’re used to train craftspeople, support small businesses and build local economic independence.

One person’s unused toolkit can become another person’s livelihood.
Why buy new clothes when you could swap? Four times a year, we run Swapping not Shopping sessions where you bring items from your wardrobe and leave with something fresh—all for a suggested £1 donation.
How it works:
Bring clothes you no longer wear. Browse what others have brought. Find something that fits and speaks to you. Leave with a new outfit, knowing your old items will find new homes too.
It’s simple, it’s sustainable, and it keeps clothes out of landfill while saving you money. No pressure to swap everything—take what you like, leave what you don’t.
