The transport group recognises the huge impact that transport issues have on carbon emissions, atmospheric pollution and the quality of our lives on a daily basis. The group raises awareness of these issues and promotes active integrated travel by:
- Understanding our local issues within a national context.
- Identifying projects and solutions to particular problems in our locality.
- Lobbying through local government. There are 3 CAS members on our Town Council and 2 on Bradford Council. These elected members are able to influence decisions on local policies and spending.
- Lobbying other agencies regarding local transport issues.
- Upgrade of canal towpath between Silsden and Kildwick
- HGV ban in Silsden
- Revised parking arrangements in town centre
- Safe active travel connection to railway station at Steeton
